The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The Institute is headed by a Director appointed by the U.S. Attorney General. A 16-member Advisory Board, also appointed by
the Attorney General, was established by the enabling legislation (Public Law 93-415) to provide policy direction to the Institute.
NIC provides training, technical assistance, and information services to related corrections.
We provide training, technical assistance, information services, and policy/program development assistance to federal,
state, and local corrections agencies. Through cooperative agreements, we award funds to support our program initiatives.
We also provide leadership to influence correctional policies, practices, and operations nationwide in areas of emerging
interest and concern to correctional executives and practitioners as well as public policymakers.

TASER International's products protect life by providing force options such our advanced Electronic Control Devices (ECDs)
for use in the law enforcement, medical, military, correctional, professional security, and personal protection markets.
TASER devices use proprietary technology to incapacitate dangerous, combative, or high-risk subjects who pose a risk to law
enforcement/correctional officers, innocent citizens or themselves. TASER technology protects life and the use of TASER devices
dramatically reduces injury rates for law enforcement officers and suspects.
TASER Foundation
To protect and serve – every day over 850,000 law enforcement officers in the United States and Canada work to fulfill this mission.
Sometimes these officers make the ultimate sacrifice and are tragically killed in the line of duty. In 2007, 190 officers in the
United States and Canada were tragically killed in the line of duty. Over 6,000 law enforcement agencies have lost officers in the
line of duty. The average age of an officer lost in the line of duty is only 38 years old.
In response to these tragedies, and as a way to give back to the law enforcement community, TASER International, Inc.
established the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers in November 2004. The initial endowment of $1,000,000 came from TASER International, Inc.
and the direct contributions from TASER International employees. To date the TASER Foundation has awarded over $1,900,000 to the families of
fallen law enforcement officers in the United States and Canada.

AZCOPS Philosophy
AZCOPS believes that all Arizona law enforcement employees (sworn or civilian) should be provided with fair wages, and benefits,
consistent with their professional status, and the important public safety service they provide to their communities.
AZCOPS will work aggressively towards making this goal a reality through dialogue with political leaders at the local,
state and national level; and the pursuit of collective bargaining rights for Arizona law enforcement employees
AZCOPS members should be provided with professional legal representation in order to protect their rights. Arizona law
enforcement employees are entitled to fairness and due process when dealing with their employers on disciplinary,
job-related criminal, and labor issues. AZCOPS provides topnotch attorneys to assist in these matters.
Arizona law enforcement employees should accumulate the greatest possible political power in order to play on a level
playing field when dealing with their public employers. Politics is the name of the game in Arizona - that's how law enforcement
employees will improve their benefits and working conditions at the local and state level. AZCOPS will be there every step of
the way to assist its member associations in the political process.
