Looking back at the 23rd Annual IACTP Trainers’ Conference

IACTP’s 23rd Annual Trainers’ Conference in Charleston, West Virginia hosted by the West Virginia Department of Corrections, was simply outstanding. The Vision of IACTP, “To lead correctional training into the next Century”, was supported by the exceptional workshops and underscored by the powerful conference theme “Fit to Lead”. The symposium workshops were outstanding as was the conference venue. Charleston is rich in history and culture with bookstores, art galleries, specialty shops, and quaint cafes border tree-lined streets in the downtown area. This beautiful city was not only a backdrop to an exceptional conference, but offer a great opportunity to meet with training professionals from around the nation.

One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the Awards of Excellence presentations in the following five different categories:

  • Specialized Topic Award
  • Innovative Approaches Award
  • Training Systems Award
  • President’s award

Details concerning the recipients of these awards can be viewed by selecting the Awards of Excellence link: Click Here
